Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 2026
These terms apply to work carried out by CV Carpentry & Construction, based in Cambridge, CB3, United Kingdom. They're written to match how we actually work: one fixed price, staged payments, and a workmanship guarantee. If anything here is unclear, ask before work starts: we'll explain it in plain English.
Quotes & Fixed Pricing
- Site visits and quotes are free and carry no obligation.
- We quote one fixed price for the work described. The price you're quoted is the price you pay for that scope of work.
- If the scope changes, because you ask for something extra, or because something unforeseen is uncovered (for example rot or defective existing work), we'll explain the options and agree any change in price with you before doing the additional work.
Payment
- Larger jobs are paid in stages: typically a 25% deposit, further payments at agreed milestones, and the balance on completion.
- Smaller jobs are usually 50% upfront and 50% on completion.
- We accept bank transfer, cash and card.
- The payment schedule for your job is agreed in writing before work begins.
Scheduling & Access
We'll agree start dates and working times with you and keep you informed if anything changes. We ask that you provide reasonable access to the work area and let us know about anything that could affect the job, for example parking restrictions, pets, or known issues with the property.
Workmanship Guarantee
Every job is backed by our workmanship guarantee. The length and terms vary depending on the type of job and will be explained when we quote. Before we consider any job finished, we walk through the work with you, if something isn't right, we put it right.
Insurance & Specialists
CV Carpentry & Construction holds public liability insurance cover up to £5 million. Where work requires specialist qualifications, it's carried out by appropriately qualified people, for example, gas and related plumbing work by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and structural elements of extensions with input from a structural engineer where required.
Planning & Building Control
Where a project needs planning permission or building control approval, we can handle this on your behalf or work alongside you if you prefer to manage it yourself. The approach for your project is agreed before work starts.

Governing Law
