01The Service
What Our Bathroom Fitting Service Covers
A complete bathroom installation, handled by one firm from start to finish: the rip-out of the old suite, first fix plumbing and any carpentry, boarding and preparation, installation of the new suite, second fix, tiling preparation and finishing, sealant and commissioning. You get one schedule, one point of contact and one fixed price for the lot.
The plumbing side is handled by a Gas Safe registered engineer we bring in, so hot and cold supplies, waste runs and radiator or towel rail moves are done by a properly registered specialist, not improvised. The carpentry, boarding, fitting and finishing are done in-house by an NVQ Level 2 qualified carpenter.
This service is for homeowners replacing a tired or leaking bathroom, adding an en-suite or downstairs WC, or getting a property ready for sale or letting. Landlords use us for full bathroom turnarounds where speed, one invoice and no callbacks matter.
Bathrooms punish amateur work harder than any other room. Water finds every gap, and the cost of getting it wrong isn't cosmetic: it's rotten joists, stained ceilings and a second full installation. Done properly, with the right trades in the right order, a new bathroom is one of the best investments you can make in a house.
02Why It Matters
What a Badly Fitted Bathroom Costs You
Water is patient. A shower tray without the right fall, a sealant line rushed, a waste connection weeping behind a panel, none of it announces itself on day one. It announces itself months later as a brown stain on the ceiling below, a floor that has started to give, or joists that have quietly rotted behind the tiles.
The most expensive bathroom is the one you pay for twice. Putting right a failed installation usually means a full strip-out, new suite included, because tiles, boards and pipework don't survive being unpicked. Rectification costs more than doing it properly the first time, every time.
Then there's the coordination failure: a plumber, a tiler and a fitter who have never met, each waiting on the other, each blaming the last. Weeks of downtime in the one room a household can't do without. One firm managing the whole sequence removes that problem entirely.
Common Mistakes Homeowners Make
-
01
Buying the suite before anyone has measured the room and checked the pipework, then paying again to make it fit.
-
02
Hiring separate trades with nobody coordinating them, the job stalls between trades and nobody owns the finish.
-
03
Choosing the cheapest quote without asking who does the plumbing, and whether they're Gas Safe registered.
-
04
Tiling over unsound boards or skipping preparation to save a day, the tiles pay for it within months.
-
05
Accepting a day-rate arrangement with no fixed scope, bathroom jobs drift, and the metre runs while they do.
03How It Works
How Your Bathroom Installation Runs
01
Free Site Visit
Charlie visits, measures the room, checks the existing pipework and layout, and talks through what's possible for your budget. It costs nothing and obliges you to nothing.
02
Fixed-Price Quote
One clear, fixed price for the complete installation, labour and materials accounted for, timescale included. No vague allowances.
03
Rip-Out & First Fix
The old suite is removed and the room is taken back to a sound shell. First fix plumbing is carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer, with any carpentry and boarding done in-house.
04
Installation & Second Fix
The new suite goes in, bath, shower, basin, WC, followed by second fix, tiling preparation and finishing, all sequenced so nothing waits on anyone.
05
Tested, Sealed & Guaranteed
Every connection is tested, every sealant line checked, and the room is walked through with you before we leave. The job is covered by our workmanship guarantee, terms vary by job type, so ask when we quote.
04Why CV Carpentry
What You Get With CV Carpentry
A bathroom involves more trades than any other room in the house. Here's how we make that simple instead of stressful.
One Firm, One Schedule
No coordinating a plumber, a fitter and a tiler yourself. One quote, one timeline, one person answerable for the whole job.
Gas Safe Registered Plumbing
All plumbing work is handled by a Gas Safe registered engineer we bring in, the right specialist for the part of the job that can't be improvised.
One Fixed Price
Quoted after a free site visit and honoured to the end of the job. No extras that appear at the finish line.
Built on Carpentry
Boarding, boxing-in, bath panels and door work are done in-house by an NVQ Level 2 qualified carpenter, so the structure behind the tiles is as sound as the finish on top.
Clean & Respectful
The one room you can't do without gets treated accordingly: tidy working, clear communication, and a clean handover.
Guaranteed Finish
£5m public liability cover while we work, and our workmanship guarantee on the finished bathroom.
05In Detail
Bathroom Fitting in Detail
What a full bathroom installation actually involves, and the variations of the service we carry out across Cambridge and the Fens.
Full Bathroom Rip-Outs & Replacements
The most common job: the existing suite is removed, the room is taken back to sound surfaces, and a complete new bathroom is installed, bath or shower, basin, WC, storage, and the finishing around them.
Because we're carpenters first, the parts other fitters struggle with, uneven floors, out-of-square walls, boxing-in, made-to-measure bath panels, are the parts we do best.
En-Suites, Cloakrooms & Downstairs WCs
Smaller footprint, same standards. En-suites and cloakrooms live or die on space planning, where the door swings, whether the basin can be used comfortably, how the pipework routes.
At the free site visit we'll tell you honestly what fits and what doesn't, and quote one fixed price for the option you choose.
Plumbing & Heating, Gas Safe Registered
All plumbing work on our bathrooms is carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer brought in for the job: hot and cold supplies, waste runs, radiator and heated towel rail moves, and the commissioning at the end.
You don't need to find, vet or schedule a plumber yourself, it's part of the one fixed price.
Preparation, Tiling Prep & Finishing
The work behind the tiles decides how long the bathroom lasts: moisture-resistant boards where they're needed, flat and sound surfaces, correct falls on shower areas, and proper sealant work at the end.
Finishing includes the carpentry details, boxing-in, panels, trims and doors, fitted by the same firm that built everything behind them.
