Free site visits in Huntingdon are straightforward to arrange. We're available seven days a week, 8am to 10:30pm every day, and we book visits at specific times, then keep them. Huntingdon's housing spans eight centuries: timber-framed and Georgian buildings in the old town, Victorian villas and terraces, large 20th-century estates, and newer developments towards Alconbury. The period properties need careful, sympathetic work; the estates need quality upgrades, and we do both. The jobs we get called for most in Huntingdon are second fix carpentry and storage in family homes, bathroom refits, extensions on the larger estate plots, garden decking and fencing, and brickwork repairs on the area's older walls and outbuildings. We also cover the villages around the town, Brampton, the Offords, Buckden, the Stukeleys and towards Alconbury and Sawtry. Period cottages, estate houses and farm conversions all get the same treatment: a free site visit, one fixed price, and work checked with you at the end. Huntingdon's position on the A14 corridor has brought steady growth, and with it a mix of long-established families and new arrivals improving recently bought homes. Both want the same thing: a tradesman who answers the phone, turns up on time, and charges the price that was quoted. The town's easy reach from our base means Huntingdon jobs schedule quickly, site visits without the wait, and work that starts on the day we agree. From the first call to the final walkthrough, you deal with one person who knows your job inside out. 02What We Do Here ## Services Available in Huntingdon Every service we offer is available in Huntingdon, one fixed price after a free site visit, tidy working, and a final walkthrough before the last payment. ### Carpentry in Huntingdon First and second fix carpentry, bespoke joinery and fitted furniture, measured twice, cut once, finished properly. We'd rather earn the next review than buy an advert. 05Tidy, respectful working is the standard, not the exception. Reviews mention clean sites and punctuality repeatedly, dust sheets down, mess cleared daily, and your home left usable every evening until the job is signed off. 06Hours that fit working households. We're available 8am to 10:30pm seven days a week, so the site visit and the work can be arranged around your job, not against it. 04Recent Work ## Real Projects, Finished Properly New internal oak door fitted with clean architrave by CV Carpentry & Construction Bespoke timber side canopy with clear corrugated roofing by CV Carpentry & Construction 05Know Your Property ## Common Property Issues We See in Huntingdon ### Period Properties Needing Sympathetic Work Huntingdon and Godmanchester are full of Georgian and Victorian homes where standard modern joinery simply looks wrong. Matching profiles, repairing rather than replacing, and using appropriate materials keeps the character, and the value, intact. ### Estate Homes Ready for Better Finishes The 20th-century estates around Oxmoor and Hartford were built functionally: basic doors, minimal storage, plain interiors. Second fix upgrades, quality doors, fitted storage, real woodwork, make these houses feel like different homes. ### Ouse Valley Ground Conditions Ground near the river and its floodplain stays wet for months, and footings suffer for it. Fence posts, decking frames and garden walls need to be specified for saturated ground, deep-set posts, treated timber, proper drainage, or they fail early. ### Dated Bathrooms in Family Homes Many Huntingdon semis and detached houses still have original or 1990s bathrooms with poor ventilation. A proper refit, with a Gas Safe registered engineer handling the plumbing, fixes the damp risk and brings the room up to the standard of the rest of the house. ### Original Features Worth Keeping Huntingdon's older homes still have original panelled doors, deep skirtings and period architraves that modern replacements can't match. We repair, strip, re-hang and restore where that's the right answer, and only replace when repair genuinely isn't. ### Garden Boundaries on Exposed Plots Edge-of-estate and open-aspect gardens in and around Huntingdon take the weather full-on. Fence posts need to go deep and panels need to be properly fixed, we build fencing for the exposure it will face, not the sheltered average. ### Dated Layouts in Estate Homes Many Huntingdon estate homes have layouts that predate how families live now, boxed-in kitchens, wasted hallway space, no storage. Bespoke carpentry and thoughtful alterations unlock the space that's already there, often for far less than an extension. 06How It Works ## Our Process in Huntingdon The same straightforward process wherever you are, no surprises, no chasing, no fine print. 01 ### Get in Touch Call, message or send the form.
