We cover the whole town, the older cottages and terraces around the centre, the post-war estates, the newer developments, plus surrounding villages like Wimblington, Doddington and Manea. Site visits to Chatteris are free, and booking one is simple. We're on the phone seven days a week, 8am to 10:30pm every day, and visits are arranged for a specific time, not a vague window. Chatteris grew from a small market town, and its housing mixes old Fen cottages, Victorian and inter-war terraces, post-war semis and recent estates. That mix means the jobs vary too, from careful repairs in older properties to quality upgrades in newer ones. Chatteris customers call us most for fencing and gates built to handle Fen winds, decking and garden structures on family plots, bathroom refits, second fix carpentry, handyman jobs, and extensions for households that need more space without leaving the town. We also cover the villages around the town, Wimblington, Doddington, Manea and towards March and Warboys. Out here the plots are often bigger and the boundaries longer, which suits the garden structures, fencing and extension work we do most. Same free site visit, same fixed price. Chatteris is a town where word travels, and that's how we like to work: do the job properly, leave the site tidy, charge the quoted price. Every job here is done on the understanding that our next one may come from the neighbours watching over the fence. Chatteris jobs fit naturally into our Fenland schedule, so site visits happen without a long wait and work starts when we say it will. You deal with one person throughout: the one who quoted the job and the one who finishes it. 02What We Do Here ## Services Available in Chatteris Every service we offer is available in Chatteris, one fixed price after a free site visit, tidy working throughout, and a walkthrough before the final payment. ### Carpentry in Chatteris First and second fix carpentry, bespoke joinery and fitted furniture, measured twice, cut once, finished properly. Lightweight fencing panels and flimsy gates fail quickly here, we build close board fencing and gates with deep-set posts and quality fixings that stay standing. ### Ground Movement on Fen Soil The peaty ground around Chatteris moves with the seasons, and buildings show it: sticking doors, cracking paths, leaning fence lines. Anything we set in the ground is specified for these conditions, and second fix repairs address the cause, not just the symptom. ### Damp and Ventilation in Older Homes Older cottages and solid-wall terraces in the town need to breathe. Bathrooms and kitchens with poor extraction develop condensation and mould problems that only proper ventilation and the right materials will fix. ### Newer Homes Lacking Storage and Finish Chatteris' newer estates are well built but plain inside. Fitted wardrobes, alcove units, better doors and quality second fix work add the storage and character the developers left out, at a fraction of the cost of moving. ### Worn Joinery in Pre-War Homes The town's older cottages and inter-war terraces have doors, floors and stairs that have served for decades. We repair and refit what's sound, replace what isn't, and match new joinery to existing profiles so repairs blend in rather than stand out. ### Outbuildings and Garden Timber Sheds, gates and garden timber in Chatteris face damp ground and driving wind. We erect and repair outbuildings properly, level bases, square frames, treated timber, and build gates that still close true after a Fen winter. ### Shared Fences on Long Boundaries Many Chatteris gardens back onto open ground or share long fence lines with neighbours. Agree the boundary before replacement, then let us build it properly, deep-set posts and close board construction that ends the discussion for good. 06How It Works ## Our Process in Chatteris The same straightforward process wherever you are, no surprises, no chasing, no fine print. 01 ### Get in Touch Call, message or send the form.
