A Small Firm That Answers to One Name
CV Carpentry & Construction exists for homeowners who are tired of chasing tradesmen. Based in CB3, Cambridge, we help people across Cambridgeshire and the Fens get carpentry, building and repair work done once and done right, from a single sticking door to a full extension. Our customers range from families in Victorian terraces to organisations like Girton Parish Council, who trusted us with their project and recommended the work.
Carpentry is the core trade: bespoke joinery and fitted furniture, second fix carpentry, and the hundred awkward jobs in between. Around that core we deliver complete bathrooms, extensions, brickwork, roofing, decking, fencing and handyman work: one firm, one point of contact, one fixed price.
Charlie is NVQ Level 2 qualified and leads every job personally. Where a project needs specialist tickets, they come from trusted, qualified partners, never whoever happened to be free: a Gas Safe registered engineer handles bathroom plumbing, extensions bring in a structural engineer and quantity surveyor where required, and roofing repairs and re-roofs go through an established roofing firm with more than 30 years' experience.
The service area is deliberately tight: Cambridge, Wisbech, Peterborough, King's Lynn, St Neots, Huntingdon, March, Chatteris and Whittlesey. Staying local means shorter travel, faster site visits and a reputation that has to be earned street by street: which is exactly how we like it.

Fixed price, full stop
Charlie visits, measures and gives you one fixed price for the whole job, the number you're quoted is the number you pay. Larger jobs are paid in stages (a 25% deposit, agreed milestones, balance on completion); smaller jobs are simply half upfront, half on completion.
Tidy, punctual, respectful
Read the reviews and the same words keep coming up: on time, polite, clean and tidy. Dust sheets go down, tools get packed away, and your home stays liveable while we work. It's not a selling point to us, it's the baseline.
The right qualifications for the risk
Carpentry is our trade, and we hold NVQ Level 2 to prove it. Where a job needs more, we bring in the right people: a Gas Safe registered engineer for bathroom plumbing, a structural engineer and quantity surveyor on extensions, and an established roofing firm with 30+ years' experience for repairs and re-roofs.
